Main Characters

Chapter 1 And 2

Kris

Kris is a human Lightner and the main protagonist of Deltarune. They are presumably the human Hero of Light in the Prophecy. In a Dark World, they function as the party's leader.

Kris is controlled by the player for the majority of the game. The few exceptions are brief cutscenes, or when they tear the SOUL out of their body.

Kris excels at ACTing in battles, and wields a sword that can transform into a shield when DEFENDing.

Susie

Susie is a Lightner from Hometown and one of the deuteragonists of Deltarune. She is presumably the monster Hero of Light of the Legend of Delta Rune.

She wields an axe while in a Dark World. With her high HP and Attack, she plays the role of the party's tank during encounters

Susie appears to be a tall, purple, vaguely reptilian monster with messy aubergine hair and clawed hands. She has yellow scleras, freckles at the sides of her face, and yellow fangs. In Chapter 2, it is implied Susie has a short tail that wags when she is happy, though she is embarrassed by it. Her attire consists of a long purple jacket, a blue trimmed white shirt, a pair of torn jeans and a pair of black shoes.

Ralsei

Ralsei is a Darkner and one of the deuteragonists (along with Susie) of Deltarune. He is presumably the "Prince from the Dark" mentioned in the Prophecy.

Having weaker attack and less max health, and with the ability to cast healing spells, Ralsei acts as the party's healer.

Ralsei appears as a short Darkner. He initially wears a hooded, dark blue cloak which obscures his face, resembling the River Person. During Chapter 1, Ralsei's pointed green hat covers his horns, and hides his entire face in shadow. He wears round glasses, a pink scarf, and a long, green coat with a black heart in the center.

Noelle

Noelle Holiday is a Lightner from Hometown. Noelle is one of Kris's classmates, as well as their neighbor and childhood friend.

She plays a minor role in Chapter 1, but becomes a major character in Chapter 2, where she temporarily joins the party during Cyber City.

Noelle lives on the northwest side of Hometown with her mother, the Mayor, and her father, Rudy, who is currently in the hospital with an unnamed illness.

Noelle is a reindeer-like monster with short brown fur, a red nose, freckled cheeks, and prominent front teeth, as well as a pair of small antlers atop her head. She walks upright, and has long golden blonde hair. She wears a red and green checkered sweater with dark grey sleeves and a dark grey skirt.

Berdly

Berdly is a Lightner from Hometown. Berdly is the self-proclaimed "Number 1" student in School, Kris's classmate in Alphys's class, and Noelle's study partner.

He plays a minor role in Chapter 1, but becomes a major character in Chapter 2. In Chapter 2, he initially appears as the secondary antagonist who is allied with Queen, but ultimately becomes an ally.

Berdly resembles a large avian with blue feathers, a yellow beak, and yellow legs. He wears black framed glasses, a collared white button-up shirt with striped sleeves, and a black shirt layered underneath.

Chapter 1

Lancer

Lancer is a Darkner child from Card Kingdom. He is one of the main characters in Deltarune.

In Chapter 1, he initially serves as the secondary antagonist, attempting to destroy the party before they can reach the Eastern Fountain and seal it, but he ultimately befriends the party and joins them.

In Chapter 2, he enters the party's inventory, allowing him to visit Cyber World with them.

Lancer is a short and rotund black, blue and white Darkner with a teardrop-shaped head and blue spade symbol on his body. The upper half of his face is hidden by a large, spade-shaped shadow. He has a large mouth and a prominent blue tongue that he usually sticks out.

Clover

Clover also has an unused variant with unique dialogue. This Clover is encountered alongside a Hathy, has partially available ACT choices (selected through chance), and also checks for the presence of certain party members (Susie and Ralsei) to modify response text.

These differences suggest that Clover was originally meant to be an regular enemy early in development that would be fought multiple times, instead of being a miniboss that is fought only once.

C. Round

C. Round is a Darkner from the Card Kingdom. C. Round is a harmless enemy encountered after Susie joins the party, but Susie insists on using violence against it.

It becomes crowned at the end of Great Board, transforming into the recurring mini-boss K. Round.

C. Round resembles a red uncrowned checker piece with brown legs protruding from its edge and a smiling dog-like face on one of its flat sides.

Rouxls Kaard

Rouxls Kaard (pronounced | ruːlz kɑːd | (rules card)) is a Darkner from the Card Kingdom. He proclaims himself the "Duke of Puzzles" and is a servant of King in Chapter 1.

In Chapter 1, he challenges the party multiple times throughout Card Castle to complete his puzzles, but they are trivially easy. In Chapter 2, he enters the party's inventory and is taken to the Cyber World. In the Cyber World, he attempts to work for Queen and challenges the party to battle in Queen's Mansion, as a mini boss.

Rouxls Kaard is an adult-sized humanoid. His head is diamond-shaped, with long white hair parted to his left, and a face with a slightly melted appearance composed of two diamond-shaped eyes and a large mouth. He wears a royal blue suit with epaulets. In terms of color-scheme, Rouxls is a flashy deep blue except when in his shop, where he appears black.

Jevil

Jevil is a Darkner from Card Kingdom. He is Chapter 1's bonus boss, and thus a holder of a Shadow Crystal.

Jevil is a short, pudgy imp with a round gray face, elven ears, clown-like eyes with small yellow pupils and black sclerae, and a large smiling mouth with yellow, sharp teeth. He has a long, purple tongue which can be seen either when he laughs, or during some of his attacks. He has a purple tail shaped like a capital letter J. He is dressed in a purple shirt, black trousers, a black cape, green slippers, black socks, purple mittens, and a lime green and yellow jester's collar. He wears a purple and black harlequin jester hat with two small yellow bells. His head appears to be connected to his body via a coil spring (akin to that found in a jack-in-the-box), which is only exposed when attacked.

Jevil is described as mad since he met a "strange someone..." Prior to losing his mind, he was a jester with a presumed jokey attitude and a friend of Seam.

Now insane, Jevil is still portrayed as an eccentric individual. His dialogue is rife with maniacal laughter, repeated words, rambling puns, and strange sentences, and he has a sadistic sense of entertainment, considering battle with the party to be a "GAME." He has a very cynical view of the world around him and considers everyone around him to be trapped while he is the only one truly free, despite ironically being jailed from the world. Seam however finds some sense in the words of Jevil, indicating that his insanity might be a form of awareness.

King

King is a Darkner from the Card Kingdom. He is the main antagonist and final boss of Chapter 1 in Deltarune. He is the father of Lancer, and one of the four kings of the Card Kingdom.

His goal is to serve the Knight by protecting the Eastern Fountain and invading the world with darkness, thus making the Darkners the rulers of it. After his defeat at the end of Chapter 1, he is imprisoned in Castle Town's dungeon.

King shares multiple features with his son, such as the tear-shaped head with a black spade where his eyes should be, a mouth showing his tongue and big teeth, a broad and white/dark grey body, and blue gloves and boots.

What differentiates him from Lancer is the three-spiked crown on his head, the enormous mouth (with more square shaped teeth compared to the curved fang shaped ones in the mouth on his face) on his stomach shaped like a blue spade from where a chain comes out when used as a weapon in battle, and the black cape that flies away at the end of the battle. King's right arm can only be seen when he turns around or is carried by the crowd at the end of his battle.

Chapter 2

Queen

Queen, full name Serial Number Q5U4EX7YY2E9N, is a Darkner who rules Cyber World. She is the main antagonist and final boss of Chapter 2 in Deltarune.

At the end of Chapter 2, she uses her GIGA Queen mecha to fight the party, with this mecha serving as the Chapter 2 final boss on a normal route.

Queen is a tall and slim black, azure, and white Darkner. She wears a sleeveless black top with an azure masonic collar that has slightly spiked shoulders and a large white medici-styled collar, white pants (sometimes with the right-half being azure), black high-heeled calf-length boots, azure gloves, a beauty spot at the right of her eyes, azure lipstick, and an azure cap with black marks on each side that sweeps significantly behind her head. Her eyes are a dark screen with a heart-like shape with eyelashes

occasionally showing red text according to her emotions. Her overall design bears a resemblance to Lancer and King (the white/blue color, eyes that are replaced with a dark shape, dark colored torso, white limbs/clothing sleeves, blue gloves, boot-like shoes), despite her being a computer rather than a playing card like they are.

K_K

K_K is, as he mentions, a CD player. He appears to be made up of two, stacked on top of each other, his head is green, with gold eyes and a purple handle. He has black, green striped arms and “spine” extending from the white boombox that is his body. He wears green pants with a belt looped through it and black boots, with gold laces and green soles. His hands are green, with gold bracelets on both of his wrists.

Sweet

Sweet is made up of two mono speakers. The head speaker has a speaker cap that functions as an eye, with one gold iris and pupil. Solid black arms with yellow gloves extend from the body speaker. Clothes consist of a black hat which faces forward, a pair of dark gray headphones with gold accents, black pants with two gold buttons, or possibly volume dials, black shoes with gold laces and blue soles, and white socks with gold trim.

Cap'n

Cap'n's head is a cassette player. He wears yellow headphones with music notes (eighth notes) on each earphone. He has a purple cap which he wears backward, sunglasses, and a blue short sleeved hoodie with a purple bandana. He, like Sweet, has solid black arms and yellow gloves. He wears black pants with a purple belt, and purple shoes with white laces and soles. Unlike the other two, who have four fingers on each hand, Cap'n has five.

Nubert

Nubert is a Darkner from the Cyber World. He can first be encountered in Cyber Field, and may travel to Castle Town after sealing the Cyber World's Dark Fountain.

Nubert serves as a running gag, in that everybody loves him for no apparent reason.

Nubert is a red bump-like Darkner without any limbs. He sports a wide smile and two small eyes at the very top of his body. When talking he moves his body from left to right.

Spamton

Spamton, full name Spamton G. Spamton, is a Darkner from the Cyber World. He is initially encountered in Cyber City, where he is fought as a miniboss.

If Kris helps him enter the Queen's Mansion's basement (either through the LoadedDisk or freezing Berdly), he transforms into Spamton NEO, which serves as Chapter 2's bonus boss on a normal route and the final boss of the Chapter 2 Snowgrave Route. As a bonus boss, he holds one of the Shadow Crystals.

Spamton appears as a diminutive puppet and ex-Addison that wears yellow and pink glasses that sometimes change colors and a long-sleeved black V-neck shirt, with black hair that is slicked back, appearing similar to a pompadour.

Tasque Manager

Tasque Manager is a Darkner mini-boss from the Cyber World that is encountered in Queen's Mansion. Her name is a play on "task manager."

Tasque Manager is a cybernetic Darkner with a passing resemblance to a cat. She has a white, diamond-shaped head, big yellow eyes with two long eyelashes, and a crescent-shaped mouth, which shows that the interior of her head is blue.

From the back of her head a tuft of blue hair sticks out, and on the top of her head a pair of pointed blue protrusions resembling cat ears stick out. From her backside a plug with a long blue cord sticks out, resembling a cat's tail.

Mauswheel

Mauswheel is a Darkner miniboss from the Cyber World, that is encountered in Queen's Mansion. It is a stronger form of Maus.

Mauswheel is a large spinning wheel, made up of multiple Maice. In the battle animation, it looks as though there are only three Maice in the wheel; however, when using Catch or CatchX, many more Maice seemingly appear out of nowhere.

Mauswheel being simply a group of Maice, it shares the same personality as them. This includes a love for cheese and a fear of Tasques.

Werewerewire

Werewerewire is a Darkner enemy in Cyber World, that is encountered in Queen's Mansion. It is a stronger form of Werewire.

Werewerewires are visually very similar to Werewires, but the body of a Werewerewire is dark purple with cyan accents. Werewerewires have a large white collar, as well as a large drill-shaped mask instead of a plug on their face. They apparently possess some form of eyes, as evidenced by a line of ACT text.

Werewerewires are strong-willed, having absorbed their wires through sheer willpower. They seem to place a lot of value in battle and victory, resenting Kris for sparing it rather than besting it in combat. Despite this, they are described as quiet, and indeed do not speak when interacted with. They are quite uptight, often found crushing a can in the post-game cafe. Like Werewires, they seem to enjoy energy drinks.

Pipis

Pipis (singular and plural) are "enemies" in Cyber World. They appear as bullets during the Spamton NEO fights, and as enemies in Queen's Mansion on the Snowgrave Route.

Pipis first appear as oval-shaped blue objects, resembling a balloon or an egg. When they pop, dozens of tiny Spamton faces fly out in every direction. Starting from version v1.07 there is a 1/100 chance of a "Ms. Pipis" replacing a regular Pipis,[1] which sports a simple pink bow, but is otherwise identical to Pipis.

Pipis seem to be more of a trap than sentient creatures, and don't have personalities outside of Spamton.
